The annual feng shui updates for 2021
Are the 2021 feng shui updates important? Should you rush into applying them in your home as soon as we enter 2021? Will the annual 2021 feng shui updates make a big difference in your home or office? I receive these questions every year, so all the answers with the tips you need to successfully apply the 2021 updates are here for you.
The annual 2021 feng shui updates are used mostly with the Classical feng shui bagua, meaning you can look into applying them in your home or office this year if the way you defined the bagua of your space is by using the Classical feng shui school bagua style.
Note: If this is the first feng shui article you are reading and you are not sure what I mean by “2021 feng shui” or the “Classical feng shui bagua”, these two short videos will help you:

If you based your home feng shui on the BTB, or the Western feng shui bagua, it is best not to apply the 2021 feng shui updates unless you are really experienced in working with the feng shui of your home. Mixing the two feng shui bagua schools can create a lot of confusion, so I suggest to stick with one bagua school. However, if you are really determined to apply the 2021 feng shui updates with the Western feng shui bagua, I will have the info ready for you soon.
So, the annual 2021 feng shui updates come in place as an additional layer of energy, as a way to define the yearly movement of good and bad feng shui energies called stars in a specific feng shui school called the flying stars (Xuan Kong).
In the bagua areas that have beneficial 2021 feng shui stars you can apply specific feng shui cures to amplify the good energy; and in the bagua areas with challenging feng shui stars in 2021, you will be wise to apply specific cures to negate the possible unwelcome effects.
Are the 2021 feng shui updates superstition? Do they really work? Well, it all depends on how you look at them and how healthy and intelligent is your approach. The best way to look at the annual feng shui updates –- including these 2021 feng shui updates –- is to read the info and see if it makes sense to you and if it can work in your home or office.
Always start with your space first, listen to it, and experiment with applying feng shui, do not take it as the ultimate and absolute knowledge. Feng shui is not a religion, nor is it a superstitious set of beliefs; in its best application feng shui is a powerful tool to improve the energy in any space. This, in turn, improves the energy of people who live or work in that space. It’s that simple!
If you feel confused about combining the annual updates with the traditional feng shui bagua requirements, these tips for applying the yearly feng shui updates will help.
Do you feel ready now to look into the 2021 feng shui updates and see how you (and your home or office) can benefit from them? Let’s start.
The 2021 Chinese New Year -– the year of the Metal Ox –- starts on February 12, 2021.
The 2021 feng shui cures, though, are applied on February 4th. Why? Because feng shui cures are usually applied on the Solar New Year (February 4th, 2021), not the Lunar New Year (February 12, 2021). Of course, you can also apply them at any time in 2021! The principle of “better late than never” sure applies when it comes to creating good feng shui in your home. Start with a clean and orderly home first; do not apply the yearly feng shui cures –- in fact, do not apply any feng shui cures -– if your house has chaotic energy created by clutter and lack of order/cleanliness.
If you plan to reuse last year’s feng shui cures, be sure to cleanse them thoroughly. However, the best way to go is to purchase new feng shui cures to use as your annual 2021 feng shui cures. You can do that in many stores, depending on the cure you need; for specific classical feng shui cures look into our online feng shui store.
Instead of dividing the info into good and bad 2021 areas, I will guide you step by step through all nine feng shui bagua areas to give you a good idea as to what is happening there in 2021.
Let’s start with the East feng shui bagua area and move clockwise from there.
East Area in 2021
The East area has the visiting Star #4, which is a beneficial star of the Wood feng shui element. It is a Wood element star in a Wood element governed bagua area (East), so it should be really easy and fun to feng shui it this year! If you have been applying feng shui in your home for some time now, updating this area for 2021 should not require much time from you.
So the East area gets a break from the very negative energy it was hosting in 2020, but nor fully so. A layer of negative energy is still here in 2021 — the so-called 3 killings — so keeping it moderately quiet — and keeping a constant eye on its energy — is a good idea.
Still, the star number 4 brings so much good energy, so find a balanced way — and I will help you with it — to enhance the gift of this auspicious energy without disturbing the negative layer still present here.
The #4 star amplifies the energy of love, relationships, career, travel, as well as any creative or academic pursuits, so, as you can see, this awesome star has a very wide reach! All your traditional love and marriage cures should work here (unless they are too fiery, meaning have a very strong presence of the Fire feng shui element). So bring your rose quartz crystals and hearts, photos of lovers or happy photos of you and your partner, etc.
The feng shui elements to avoid here are the Fire and the Metal elements (easy, as this is what it is usually recommended for the East area), and the ones to bring on strongly are the Wood, the Water, and the Earth element (in this order).
Here is a list of good feng shui annual cures for the East area in 2021:
- Fresh flowers
- Lush vibrant plants
- Rose quartz crystal hearts
- Photos or images of love
- Visual expressions of creativity and success
- Colors blue, black, green and brown
- Rectangular, square and wavy shapes in decor
- Fire element colors and decor
- Metal element colors and decor
- Round and triangular shapes
- Loud noise and too much activity
If you feel that your specific East area needs additional protection (this can happen for a variety of reasons, including specific features in your floor plan) you might want to look into the classical feng shui cures for the so-called three killings energy.
Next, let’s look at the Southeast feng shui bagua area in 2021.[ Continue reading on Patreon ]
